Firm unveils device to reduce car theft

A major manufacturer of security device, Tramigo, has unveiled new products that will assist vehicles owners in the country to reduce the incidence of car theft.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Arto Tiitinen, while speaking on Monday, in Abuja, said the move was part of the efforts aimed at responding to the changing needs of fleet owners, family and entrepreneurs.
He said with the tracking device, securing one’s vehicle had become easy as car owners could now take full control of their automobiles with mobile telephones.
For instance, he said the tracking device could enable vehicle owners to monitor driving habits, reduce fuel costs, detect idling engines, speeding, and other fuel consuming driving habits.
Others are to prevent unauthorised trips and theft as well as detect ignition tampering and door opening.
He said, “We are the largest manufacturer of vehicle tracking products in the world and we are working to make this product a household brand name in Nigeria.”
He described Nigeria as a huge market with over 25 million vehicles, adding that the target of the company was to capture about 2.5 million through the installation of the device.
Also speaking during the chat, the company’s Marketing Manager, Philomena Adolor, said, “With our products, you don’t have to go online to track your vehicle, you can track with your phone through SMS or through the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service).
