Researchers Find Excessive TV Viewing Behind Low Sperm Counts

Researchers Find Excessive TV Viewing Behind Low Sperm Counts
While TV watching was never encouraged, it has been said now that it could even lead to rise in sperm count among males. It has been published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine after the researchers led by Audrey Gaskins and Jorge Chavarro of the Harvard School of Public Health, prepared questionnaires to be given to as many as 189 healthy young men.
It has been found that those men who watched TV for over 20 hours per week were at an escalated risk of lower sperm count by 44% as compared to those who didn't watch TV.
It was also observed that those men who spent over 15 hours in a single week for exercising at a "moderate to vigorous" rate were at an escalated chance of having 73% higher sperm count as compared to those who exercised less than five hours in a single week.
There have been many studies based on physical activity and semen quality. "We were able to examine a range of physical activity that is more relevant to men in the general population", said Jorge Charravo, assistant professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health, Massachusetts.
However, it has been said that sperm count was not dangerously low for them not to enjoy fatherhoo
