It is very difficult getting job these days, with unemployment rates rising and employers laying off workers almost on daily basis in response to economic situation. So, it’s not unusual seeing people say they have lost their job, but however, if that happens, life must still go on. Now, the question is… How do I earn money while unemployed?

Experts advise that you need to have a positive mindset that you can still earn money within the period you are unemployed, and that what is required is simply having a positive mindset.
We all have a skill or a hobby we can earn money from, be it painting, sewing, or woodworking. Instead of just making items free for your friends, make these items to sell either at fairs, exhibitions, online or even to your friends at cheaper rates.
According to experts, if your hobby is perhaps writing, then you have a much more advantage to earn money, explaining that you can write articles online for some sites and get paid.
They that you can also write a book in your area of interest which does not need to be novel length but try to make sure you are either selling ideas or providing solutions in your book.
In 2012, e-books sold worldwide more than paper bound books which means you can publish an e-book with little or no upfront cost.
There are many free and inexpensive methods for marketing and promoting your e-book such as Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords. You could also blog and make money from ads on your blog when you start attracting traffic to your blog.
Even if you don’t have a hobby you can earn money with, you can earn money while you offer your services to others who either do not have the skill or the time to do chores themselves and get paid. Some of these services are child care or proxy landlord for your neighbors who spend most of the year away from home.
The skill that made you a valuable employee can also make you a freelance consultant to companies, if you have just been laid off, you can still offer your service to some other companies that might require your expertise probably on a contract basis without necessarily being a permanent staff.
You can also be a research person or an online surveyor to a company on a part time basis and earn income. If you have a marketable skill like graphic design, you can also design websites for companies, and friends who need website for their business and get paid.
