Man claims Prezzo lover was his wife

By Stevens Muendo and Agencies
A man has come out to claim he was still legally married to Nigerian superstar Goldie Harvey who died on Thursday.
Andrew Harvey claims they wedded in 2005 and even released pictures of the ceremony. He further claimed that they spent the last Christmas together in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, May 6, last year, down in Johannesburg, South Africa, two complete strangers – Goldie from Nigeria and CMB Prezzo (Jackson Makini) from Kenya – were locked inside the Big Brother Africa Star game (BBA) house.
Thirty days later, the entire continent was talking about them. They were inseparable lovers.
And how twisted could it be that love that was brewed in such an unlikely spot, with the whole continent disproving of it could end dramatically and tragically – on Valentine’s Day.
Like a clip cut from a fiction Hollywood movie, the two celebrities were on separate flights (Goldie flying from the United States and Prezzo from Kenya) headed to Nigeria where they were to have a Valentine’s Day engagement – then get married.
By the time the Kenyan rapper was arriving in Lagos, Goldie had been pronounced dead.
The Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet sort of analogical nine months affair that ended with the tragic heartbreaking death of the 31-year old Nigerian singer (whose real name is Susan Filani) has left the world puzzled. And not just merely so, but the cause of her death – pulmonary embolism (a condition caused by blockage of blood vessels in the lungs causing blood clot) – left many awed.
Humble
The melodramatic star, who described herself as generous and humble passed on Thursday night at Reddington Hospital, in Victoria Island, Lagos after complaining of severe headache shortly after she had landed from Los Angeles where she had joined international stars in witnessing this year’s Grammy Awards.
She passed away in the arms of her best friend Denrele with whom she was due to shoot a reality show entitled Tru Friendship in two weeks.
Her demise shocked celebville across Africa and in particular millions of her fans in Nigeria and Kenya where she had become a household name since hooking up with Prezzo in the BBA houseUpon receiving the news, an inconsolable Prezzo deactivated official social pages as thousands of Kenyans poured in their condolences.
Local blogs and major entertainment Internet cites as well as entertainment TV and radio shows across the region dedicated the day to the fallen pop star with her songs carrying the day.
The continental Big Brother Africa website and BBC Africa went ahead to highlight the singer’s life.
On August 5 last year, inside the BBA house, Goldie wept helplessly after Prezzo failed to get the Sh25 million winner’s cash prize. It was a dull night for both of them.
When all the housemate gathered to meet selected fans during the all night party in Johannesburg, media spotlight was on the two who remained hand-in-hand as they fielded Press interviews.
Regular visits
They remained optimistic that their love would blossom and in two weeks after his celebrated return, Prezzo shocked critics as he headed to Lagos to meet Goldie and her family where he would later declare his love for her.
Ever since, the two have been in the eyes of the public making regular working visit to Nairobi and Lagos as well as a two-week’s leisure trip to the United States where they attended one of the coveted Jay Z concerts.
Born into a strict, disciplinarian family of six, in the South-West of Nigeria, the young Susan’s world revolved around Church activities, so much so that by the tender age of five, she could recite an impressive amount of Bible verses.
According to Reverbnation, her social circle was limited to within the walls of the Church, where her family spent most of their time, as her mother was a choir mistress and father, a pastor. ?
The adventurous Susan, however, found a way to break free of the limitations that surrounded her by escaping into the world of Music as created by the likes of Abba and Celine Dion.
She desperately wanted to express her inner self. This self-expression was discovered while she was studying for a degree in the United Kingdom. She has since been signed on to Kennis Music and gone on to win multiple awards for her hit single You Know It.
Her debut album, Gold, is now in music stores.
