One of the nation’s telecommunication service providers, Etisalat has announced that barely five years of opening its doors to business in Nigeria, the company has been able to sway over 21 million Nigerians to its network.
Making this disclosure in Lagos on Wednesday at the flag off of the Season 5 of the music reality TV show, Nigerian Idol, Director, Brands and Communications, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr Enitan Denloye, explained that the network was able to achieve this mark, through constant innovations which, he noted, had been the bedrock of the company’s strategies over the years.
He explained that the company’s decision to sponsor the Nigerian Idol music talent show was informed by the need to connect with the nation’s youths and develop future music talents in the country.
Denloye described the music show as one of the innovations the telecoms service provider had been leveraging on in the past few years to bond itself with the teeming Nigerian youths, adding that the company would be unrelenting in its bid to ensure that music talents were discovered and encouraged in the country.
One of such support, he explained, would be by investing in the winners in the course of doing their various albums, adding that previous winners of the show had enjoyed such support in the past.
“We are raising the bar this season in every aspect of the show and by the end of the season, we want to have the problem of choice, a situation whereby each of the contestants will stand out in their own unique way. Season 5 is all about young music talent that would bring the value of creativity and innovation into the music scene.
‘‘Besides the prized money and the car for the winners, one of the focuses for us is making sure we pay for album production. For us the moment you are on the show we see you as part of the Etisalat family and we make sure we invest in you so as to get the best out of you,’’ he stated.
