Mo Abudu, CEO, EbonyLife TV, is in celebration mood. This accomplished television personality with an impressive and intimidating resume, will clock 51 in a matter of days.
So, as the TV gal warms up to celebrate her 51st birthday on Friday, September 11, many have started to shower her with encomiums for her ability to contribute her own quota to Africa’s growing broadcasting sector and for raising her head up in an era where women’s rights are being trampled upon despite growing calls for gender equality.
Over the years, she has successfully positioned herself as one of the greatest television personalities in Africa. So, it was not surprising when she was described as Africa’s Most Successful Woman” by Forbes: Beautiful Mo Abudu has her hands in quite a lot of pies, including talk-show and HR management consultancy, among others.
When she started her syndicated talk-show, Moments With Mo, many thought it was just another programme. But she has been able to prove that she has the Midas touch, as the talkshow, which has now given birth to Ebony Life Television, which is now a household name. She has featured prominent personalities around the world.
At age 11, she attended Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School Akure, Ondo State. At 12, shortly after her father died, she returned to the UK and attended Hammersmith County Secondary School before moving to the Ridgeway School in Kent,where she lived with her guardian in Tunbridge Wells. From there, she went to West Kent College and MidKent College. She has a Master’s degree in HR Management from the University of Westminster, London.
She started off her career in the UK as a recruitment consultant in 1987, becoming a branch manager. She went on to work for the Starform Group, managing the Corporate Credit Management Exhibition from 1990 to 1992.
