Onyeka Onwenu Appointed Director Of National Centre For Women Development
Iconic singer Onyeka Onwenu has been appointed as the Executive Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre For Women Development, Abuja.
She was born in Onitsha, Anambra State on May 17, 1961. Onyeka Onwenu is a Nigerian singer, actress and politician.  In 2006, she won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a supporting role.
Previously, she was the chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts.
She is expected to assume duties immediately.

There is more to Onyeka than just being a sondstress. She has a university degree. She worked in the United Nations office in New York before returning to Nigeria. She was also once a staff of the NTE. She authored the film that exposed the massive nature of corruption in the Nigerian nation - the squandering of riches.She is also a judge in the Nigeriaks x factor reality series. Above all, she is a proud mother of a son.
