Leading
oral care brand, Close Up toothpaste and Fabric Cleaning brand Omo,
have received accolade from different stakeholders for fulfilling its
promise of Big wins in the just concluded Buy, Display and Win promo
which produced over 200 winners.
The
promo, which kicked off in May 2013 across the country, was targeted at
retailers and reward those who prominently displayed the Close up
toothpaste tubes and sachets as well as Omo in their stores. The Prize
presentation held across the regions as 8 lucky winners went home with
brand new Hyundai i10 cars, others went home with mouth-watering gifts
such as Deep Freezers, Generator sets, Fridges, Television sets, DVD
players, Pure it water Purifiers, Blenders, and Steam Irons.
Speaking
during the prize presentation in Abuja, Manager, Garki Market, Abuja,
Mr Ibrahim Yahaya Joe praised Close Up and Omo for creating such reward
scheme for retailers as it provides the opportunity for both business
and social growth. According to Yahaya Joe, he was glad that the star
prize winner of a Hyundai i10 car emerged from Garki Market. “The car
will definitely elevated the social status of the winner and would go a
long way in easing movement for him and his family in Abuja”.
The
Star prize winner of a brand new Hyundai i10, Mr Bala Baba Jos who
could not hide his joy stated that he didn’t expect such a big gift from
Unilever. According to him, “Close Up and Omo have made it possible for
me to own a brand new car, which I never imagined of acquiring”. Baba
Jos thanked the brands for rewarding hardwork and patronage as such
initiatives only encourage traders to progress in their business.
Winner
of a Deep Freezer, Titilayo Sikiru of AY Business link stores stated
that she was proud to be a retailer of Unilever, manufacturers of Close
Up and Omo, as she has been greatly rewarded and business with the
company has been good to her. According to her, “I am so happy today and
I thank CloseUp for this prize.
Mr.
Peter Eze of Blessed Sir Peter Stores, who won a Plasma TV set thanked
Unilever for the gift and urged other organizations to emulate such
initiatives.
Reacting
to the feedback from the stakeholders, Customer Marketing Manager,
Unilever Nigeria Plc, Mrs Toluwaleke Salu stated that the last four
months has been an exciting journey for Unilever as the company got a
lot of support from distributors, retailers and customers. “This is one
of our ways of rewarding and saying thank you to our esteemed retailers
for doing well during this promo period.”
Salu added that there would still be more rewards schemes targeted at their trade partners in the nearest future.
Speaking
in like manner, Assistant Customer Marketing Manager, Unilever Nigeria
Plc, Mr Ladipo Anu said that Close Up also used this period to introduce
the Close Up 15 grams sachet into the market as the same prize of 10
grams. According to Anu, “it gives more value for their money as the
new product comes with 50 percent extra volume and is uniquely
formulated to give 3 times fresher breathe to consumers. “We believe in
rewarding loyalty, and our customers have proven that loyalty” he added.
Nigerians
have declared Close Up as the most loved toothpaste brand as buttressed
during a recent poll that won the brand the Award as the ‘Coolest
Toothpaste Brand’ at the last edition of the Generation Next Survey
Awards. Its different gel variants attend to the needs of its various
customers. The prize presentation to winners of the Buy, Display and Win
promo also took place in Benin and Awka.
