Hoping this is affordable...

housing-estate_3As part of efforts to reduce the huge housing deficit challenge currently facing the country, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) is set to deliver the first tranch of the mass housing scheme by September this year.
The managing director of the bank, Alhaji Gimba Kumo, who disclosed this in Abuja yesterday, noted that 3,500 units is expected for delivery come September.
Kumo, who was the guest speaker at a leadership forum organised by the Nigerian Newsworld and Nigerian Pilot Newspapers, stated that the FMBN is working closely with the federal ministry of land, housing and urban development to ensure the project is fast-tracked. The ministry is providing land, sites and services to reduce the cost of delivery of the project.
Kumo said that the FMBN is also working with the Nigerian Employers Consultative Association (NECA), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for housing development for Nigerian workers.
Giving a progress report on the National Housing Fund (NHF), the FMBN boss said it collected N134.1 billion as the NHF since its inception in 1992. He said that out of the amount, the bank collected N8.1 billion from December, 2010 to date.
