Nineteen customers of Dangote Cement will celebrate the  New Year as millionaires having emerged winners in the ongoing Dangote Cement Mega Million Dash promo at the weekend.
This was as the atmosphere at the Eliozu, GU Ake Road venue of the formal presentation of the winners was ignited when the N1 million cheques were presented to each of the 19 winners, and end users of Dangote Cement in the South-South, after their entries were picked during the draw held in Lagos
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Group Chief Marketing Officer, Oare Ojeikere, said the Dangote Mega Millions Dash was part of the efforts by the management of the company to give back to its end users of the product as a way of empowering, encouraging and thanking them for their patronage.
Ojeikere noted that during its usual interactions with agents and distributors, the company realised the need to go beyond its distribution value chain activities to reward end users, mainly block makers, masons, bricklayers and builders.
According to him, “the idea is to move beyond meeting and interacting with our distributors to giving something back to people who use our products everyday. People like block makers, those working at the construction site and those building their homes.
“Whether it is the engineer or the home owner himself, it is a way to still retain our name and our customers who are the end users of our products. Every week, 14 millionaires are announced. We have done 13 weeks already and expecting that more are expected to win in the ongoing promo. Those who won cut across different segments of people, women, youths and a small boy who happens to be our star winner. We believe this will help them improve their lives,” he said.
The Marketing Officer said the Dangote Mega Millions Dash promo started late November and “we have had three draws already,” adding that the first draw was in November and the last draw would be at the end of February 2016.
Ojeikere said that N300 million is up for grabs in the Dangote Mega Millions Dash, explaining that winners emerged after they cut out and collect five tokens from the top right corner of Dangote Cement bags.
He, however, disclosed that 42 millionaires have so far emerged and have been given their money while 420 others who won N50,000 have redeemed their prizes.
Also speaking at the event, the Zonal Coordinator, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), South-South, Prince Chinonye Ikegwuruka, commended the foremost cement company and said the commission was around to monitor what the company was doing with the promo and draws.
Ikegwuruka advised the winners to always contact the agency if the company fails in its bid to fulfil her obligation, adding that for what they have seen, the promo is real and genuine.
