The rumours making round that one of the daughters of Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is married to a man from Anambra State has been debunked.
According to the rumour, Buhari’s daughter converted Christianity after marrying the Anambra man.
Debunking the news, two close members of Buhari’s family who spoke with SaharaReporters said: “Buhari has never claimed that any of his daughters was married to an Anambra man.”
The source explained that Buhari had raised numerous children from members of his extended family, adding that they had grown up and taken spouses from different parts of Nigeria.
Muhammadu Buhari (born December 17, 1942) is a Nigerian politician and a retired Major General in the Nigerian Army who was the military ruler of Nigeria from December 31, 1983 to August 27, 1985.
Buhari who has contested for the post of President three consecutive times and failed, recently emerged again as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC a party which he is also a co founder.
