There are many reasons why you may need to stay awake at night. But if you have to, there are some simple tips that would help you to resist the slumber.
1. Drink more water
Dehydration can make you sleepy. You should better keep your body hydrated enough to void these symptoms. If you are already sleepy try drinking more water to stay awake. You would have to go to the bathroom so you will stay tuned. Additionally, remember to drink water. Coffee, tea, alcohol or juice are not helping.
2. Short breaks
Your brain doesn’t care that you should study or work all night long. It still needs some rest. Try to schedule your time: 45 for routine than 15 minutes for rest. Set your alarm to remember it. During the 15-minute break you can do anything: watching TV, listening to some music, have a nap (don’t forget to set the alarm), but nothing school/work related.
3. Do some exercises
The best way to wake yourself is to take a short walk. You can also try to dance a little to some music. Doing some physical exercises is also a point. Taking a shower after the exercises will help you to stay awake even better. It is better to take a general shower. Avoid really cold water as it might shock your body.
4. Take a right place for work or studying
The place where you want to work shouldn’t be too comfortable. It would be hard to stay awake there. It is better to sit up at the desk with no pillows and a lamp turned on.
5. Eat a snack
You can get your level of sugar up eating a portion of healthy food. Junk food would not work in such a way. Fruits like oranges or apples are considered as a good food to keep your organism stable so you can stay awake longe
