Locally manufactured multi-purpose vehicles are now available for the army, police, the Department of State Services (DSS) and other para-military forces.
The vehicles are produced by Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited (IVM), a Nigerian automobile and bus manufacturing company.
It was founded by Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma who runs a plant in Nnewi in the state of Anambra. At least 70% of the car parts are produced locally while the rest is being imported from Japan, China and Germany.
Mr Chukwuma has presented the latest Innoson IVM G12 designed solely for military operations to Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai , the chief of army staff.
The presentation took place at the Tactical Headquarter of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri, Borno state, on Wednesday, November 16.
