The Access Lagos city marathon is currently taking place in Lagos
– The race is the maiden edition

Lagos city marathon route
1. The Access Lagos City Marathon is sponsored by Access Bank in collaboration with the Lagos state government and facilitated by the Nigerian Athletics Federatioon.
2. The aim of the marathon is to bring all the stakeholders in the health, wellness, and wellbeing industry together to promote a healthier Nigeria.
3.The event will host over 20,000 Local and International Marathoners which includes Peter Kiplagat who won the 2015 Geneva Marathon.

4. At marathon has garnered a lot of international and national endorsements from sports celebrities and local stars— Sound Sultan, Olamide, Patoranking, Lil Kesh, Jimi Disu and other sports stars like Sebastian Coe and Paula Jane Radcliffe, the English long-distance runner.
5.The theme of the Lagos City Marathon is Hospitality, Wellness and Wellbeing.

6.The race with a total prize money of $50,000 started at the National Stadium Lagos and finish at the Eko Atlantic City.
7. Runners must collect running number to participate just do it the fun of it by partaking without official number.

9.IAAF President, Sebastian Coe is expected to be at the event.
10. Economy: Hosting the event is expected to further boost the economy of Lagos State as well as promote Lagos as a destination worthy of visit by tourists
