This teenage loverboy fell 230 feet for love — and somehow lived

A Russian teenager literally took a plunge for love this week — and miraculously survived the 230-foot drop.
Alexander Shadrin, 16, was in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk when he fell 23 stories onto the roof of a taxi cab after trying to impress his crush by foolishly hanging from a balcony railing, according to the Siberian Times.
Surprisingly, the teen survived the fall and was conscious when taken to a nearby hospital. He was treated for a number of injuries, but was expected to make a full recovery.
“He has a bruised abdomen and lung, a tear in his liver and a broken shoulder. The guy was born under a lucky star. He is stable and conscious,” a Novosibirsk official told TASS Russian News Agency
Photos from the accident show the top of the Renault Logan taxi completely smashed after breaking Shadrin’s fall, which might have otherwise been fatal.
The condition of the boy’s heart was not immediately clear. The girl he was trying to impress has not been publicly identified.
